Dallastown fire

Fire crews are investigating the cause of a house fire that broke out in York County Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 6 pm on the 3000 block of Iron Stone Hill Road, York township. It was a 2 alarm fire that firefighters said they had a hard time putting out from the lack of fire hydrants in the area. Several tank trucks were called in to help assist with the water shortage.

We were told that the elderly couple inside the home did make it out safe, but there is no word yet on what sparked this fire. The home is considered to be a total loss.
