Now that weddings have plugged into the “digital” world (with brides finding “pin-speration” from apps and wedding widgets and some couples opting for live-streamed, Skyped ceremonies), it makes sense that social media would find its way into the special day, as well, but not without rules to adhere to.  According to newly released stats from David’s Bridal’s “What’s on Brides’ Minds” survey, 56 percent of newlywed women think it’s important to have social media rules at the wedding.

Before Instagraming the first kiss or “outing” the first pic of the bride’s gown, guests should think twice:

  • The dress is off limits: 61 percent forbid their bridesmaids from uploading pics of the bride donning her dress before the ceremony
  • My wedding, me first: 52 percent of brides say that she and her groom must be the first to post a picture of their wedding to a social media site.

Karen Hoffman with David’s Bridal goes through the key rules guests should know so they don’t spoil the bride and groom’s special day.
