Food vendors, games and live music are taking over downtown Lancaster.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the city’s annual “Celebrate Lancaster” street festival.

More than 20 food carts are set up along N. Queen Street and Lancaster Square and there are two music stages at Penn Square and Binn’s Park.

People there early were more than happy to jump in and indulge.

“Family time to enjoy each other, have fun, some laughs,” said Elyja Sanchez.

“Something I’m not supposed to have, pina colada!” said Merry Nazario. ” Sorry, my doctor is going to get me!”

The celebration will cap off with a fireworks show at 10 p.m. from the Duke Street parking garage.

Admission is free.
