People in our area celebrated Independence Day a few days early at Sunset Park in Dauphin County.

Londonderry Township held its 5th annual “Stars and Stripes Salute” this evening.

Live patriotic music, fireworks, food, and games for kids were on the list of festivities as families young and old celebrated.

Hundreds of people packed the park, many come back year after year.

“Oh it’s great, I mean there’s so many kids here everybody’s having a good time celebrating the same thing so we’re having a great time,” says Mandy Heinz, who was celebrating for the second year in a row.

Admission was free but donations were accepted.

Those went to the Lebanon VA Hospital.
