FLASH FLOOD WATCH in effect for parts of the area go into effect tonight at 8pm and continues through the afternoon Monday. Areas in green can expected additional rain which may lead to flash flooding.  Recent rains have left the ground very wet.  Creeks and streams are running abnormally high.  Residents living along creeks and streams need to be prepared to move to higher ground should water levels rise rapidly.

Flash Flood Watch

A slow moving and strong upper level trough will keep us warm and humid as well as supply a daily dose of scattered showers and storms tomorrow and Tuesday before retrograding west late Tuesday into Wednesday at which time we should see shower chances decrease towards the Fourth of July holiday and into the weekend.

Very warm and humid conditions persist into the night.  Scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will linger overnight.  Lows will be mild around 70.

Tomorrow, a couple of potent upper level short waves will lift north along or just to the east of the mountains along a stationary boundary bringing numerous showers and thunderstorms.  Some could contain locally very heavy rainfall. Some areas may pick up well over an inch with isolated areas over 2 to 3″ of rain. Flooding will be concern with the grounds already very wet. Highs will be in the low 80s.

Rainfall Potential

Tuesday looks to be another day with a good chance for showers and thunderstorms, highs in the low 80s but come Wednesday and the rest of the week, an upper level ridge works its way westward and will cut down our chances for showers and thunderstorms.

Right now Fourth of July looking at more dry hours than not.  Only an isolated threat for showers and storms expected.  It will be warm and humid with highs around 87.
