Paula Deen citing Prop 8

Celebrity chef Paul Deen hopes the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on same sex marriage will help her with her legal troubles.  Deen’s attorney filed a motion in U.S. District Court citing the ruling in the Proposition 8 case.  In that case, the court ruled the private parties behind the appeal did not have the standing to defend the ballot measure.  Deen’s reputation took a hit when she admitted to using racial slurs in the past during a deposition for a discrimination case.  Her attorney says that the plaintiff is white and therefore does not have the standing or legal right to sue Deen for racial discrimination.
