Gettysburg’s 150th Anniversary Commemoration Features more than 200 events, tours, programs and exhibits.
Here is a snapshot of some of the activities happening today, July 2:
- Annual Battle of Hunterstown Commemoration:
The Historic Tate Farm
1975 Shrivers Corner Road, Hunterstown
Understand the Impact that the Battle of Hunterstown had on the battle taking place in Gettysburg just a few miles away. Take a walking tour at 11 a.m. of the battle sites, engage with live historians and understand the full story behind the battles of the Gettysburg Campaign.
- 150th Re-enactment of the Battle of Hanover:
Sheppard Farm
1750 Westminster Road, Hanover
The 150th Re-enactment of the Battle of Hanover will commemorate the 1863 engagement that delayed J.E.B. Stuart’s return to Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia during the Gettysburg Campaign. Gates open at 1 p.m. and the battle begins at 6 p.m. The action will be narrated by author J. David Petruzzi.
