The cashier at the Turkey Hill on Main Street reported receiving a strange phone call last night several minutes before a masked man showed up and tried to get in the store. the caller asked the clerk what time the store closed and whether or not a particular drink machine was still ‘turned on.’ Spidey sense triggered, the alert clerk locked the front door to the store. Sure enough, a man showed up several minutes later holding what appeared to be a handgun. He tried to open the front door and fled on foot when he realized it was locked. The suspect was wearing a dark-colored hoodie and a light blue covering over his face.
Officers searched the area around the store with a K-9 to no avail.
