Stabbing investigation in Lancaster City

StabbingA 23-year-old woman walked in to Lancaster General Hospital with multiple stab wounds Wednesday evening.

Lancaster City Police arrived on the scene at 529 Howard Avenue and Christian street for a stabbing around 6:45 Wednesday evening. While police responded to the scene, the victim walked into the emergency room asking for help.  She was taken to surgery for wounds to her chest, torso and arm. All the wounds were non life threatening.

After securing the scene investigators interviewed witnesses in the area discovering that the suspect is the victims boyfriend and he fled the scene before police got there. While police were trying to locate the suspect, the suspect was walking along the first block of South Ann Street and walked up to another officer at a different scene.

He told the officer who he was and that police were looking for him. He was arrested and taken to Lancaster City Police station.The suspect was identified as Jose Alberto Estevez 36, of Lancaster. He is being charged with one count of criminal attempt at criminal homicide. He is currently being held for arraignment.
