Chambersburg vehicle accident turns into a shooting investigation

Originally reported and dispatched as a hit and run accident in Chambersburg, Franklin County, quickly turned into a shooting investigation.

Around 11:15pm Thursday evening Chambersburg police responded to the 300 block of W. King Street for a fatal hit and run accident. Once on the scene and after further investigation, there was no accident or car involved but a shooting took place.

The victim is a white male, and is not being identified at this time pending the notice of the family.

Police are investigating and following up on leads that they have.
