A historic Lancaster County bridge is open once again nearly two years after it was badly damaged.  Lancaster County Commissioners held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the reopening of the newly repaired Siegrist’s Mill Covered Bridge in Mount Joy.  The bridge was knocked off its foundation and swept downstream in September of 2011 after Tropical Storm Lee ravaged the area.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) provided $790,000 for the renovations.  As part of the repairs, the bridge was raised two feet to reduce the impact of future flooding.  The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
