Fire rips through an apartment in Lititz Wednesday afternoon. The complex, was a recovery house run by the Gate House For Men in Lititz. The men had gone through their drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.

“ Now we have to find alternatives for them. Most of them work locally and do not have cars and they`ll need transportation and we`re looking into hotels but the fact that it`s tourist season most of the hotels were booked,” says Fern Wilcox Director of  at the Gate House

The Lititz Fire Chief says the fire started around 2:30 Thursday afternoon. When they arrived no one was home and smoke was pouring out of the building.

“ We had a ceiling collapse we had a couple of guys that had a few harrowing moments but all guys got out ok but basically other than an excitement factor everyone got out ok,” says Ron Oettel, Chief, Lititz Fire Company

Now, Wilcox is working on finding clothes and bare necessities for these men.

“ They’re very scared. They told me they came in with one set of clothes and shoes that they acquired and now it’s gone,” says Wilcox
