Vandals topple tombstones at Prospect Hill Cemetery

Vandals topple dozens of tombstones at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in York County. Northern York County Regional Police say sometime between 6 pm Tuesday and 9 am Wednesday, nearly 50 tombstones were toppled.  Some of the damaged tombstones date to the late 1990’s.

A person or persons unknown appeared to have walked into the cemetery near Dewey Avenue and toppled the tombstones as they walked towards Pennsylvania Avenue. The number of damaged tombstones may change as caretakers do a more complete check of the grounds. So far there is no cost estimate of the damage.
