PennDOT maintenance crews this week are making repairs to upgrade the inside shoulder of southbound Interstate 81 in Dauphin County, between Exit 77 (Manada Hill / Hershey /Route 39) and Exit 72 (Paxtonia / Linglestown / Mountain Road). In order to do their work safely, the left lane of southbound I-81 will be closed between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (June 29 – August 1). Instead of two lanes available to traffic, this work will restrict southbound motorists to a single lane through the work area between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Significant traffic backups may occur. Motorists are asked to be alert to this operation, to slow down when approaching and traveling through the work zone, and to be patient.
