Multi-vehicle crash on I-81 in Cumberland County

A man is dead as a result of a two vehicle crash on I-81 in Cumberland County.  It happened around 11:30 am at mile marker 44 southbound. State Police say a Ford pick up truck that was travelling northbound crossed over the center median and hit the side of a motor coach bus that was headed southbound.  The motor coach was driven by a 52 year old male from Lake Havasu, Arizona. The driver suffered no injuries and there was nobody else in the motor coach. The driver of the ford is a 37 year old male from Newville. He had only minor injuries.

The passenger in the ford was a 38 year old male from Newville.  He was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and is deceased. The crash is still under investigation.

    Wow, I think we went all last week without a major catastrophe on I-81. Time to get back to normal. Time to put a guard rail in that grass strip.

    It is always unfortunate to see stories like this and I also think it may be time to put up a rail. Great job to the police for arriving on the scene so quickly though.
