Burglar uses dumbbell to break into Ephrata business, steals liquor

Police are looking for a burglar who used a dumbbell to break into an Ephrata liquor store in early March.

Matthew James Burkhart, 24, of Denver, is charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy and theft.

It happened March 5 at the Wine and Spirits Store located along the first block of West Main Street.

According to police reports, Burkhart threw a dumbbell through the glass door in order to gain entry and steal alcohol.
