Nearly 20,000 donated books are ready for purchase in the 13th annual Book Blast.

Book Blast organizer, Lila Fourhman-Shaull says, “They see something they either remember going in this building or attending this school.”

Fourhman- Shaull says the Book Blast is a way to connect the county with neighbors’ history.

“They’re looking for those long out of print genealogies, or reference books for local history,” says Fourhman-Shaull.

She says the community participates by donating books, and then walking away with a new handful.

“The collectable area- those are priced individually, but the rest of it, from the cookbooks to history, to fiction, a dollar for paperbacks, 2 dollars for hardcovers.”

By participating in the Book Blast, you help boost the county’s heritage.

“We can do educational programs, build exhibits, pay those electric bill, all those that need to be done,” she says.

The Book Blast continues at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum until Saturday.
