Three separate shootings in York happened in the span of 8 hours.

Now one person is dead and two others are injured.

People FOX43 spoke with say gunshots happen all the time, but three separate shootings in one night have left people in disbelief and one family absolutely heartbroken.

This bar at the intersection of Broad and Walnut streets was one of three crime scenes last night.

25 year old Jaime Sanabria was shot and killed after what police are calling an “altercation”.

Sanabria’s friends and family didn’t want to talk with us on camera.

They and other people in York are having a hard time believing it.

“It still shocks me that one person had to die for something stupid like that… over a shot,” says Samantha Taska.

Samantha Taska lives on South Penn Street where the first shooting happened shortly before midnight.

She heard the gunshots through her bedroom wall.

“It surprises me how people can sit there and just shoot and not care who they hurt. Nowadays we don’t know what the world is coming to with the violence. I honestly think it should stop,” says Taska.

Tony Thomas thinks the violence should stop too.

He owns a furniture store here on King Street where police responded early this morning after Bridgette Samuel shot her boyfriend in the leg.

“Wow I’m completely shocked. I didn’t think it was so bad out in this area,” says Tony Thomas.

The violence that’s shaken this city in the past 24 hours is making people change their ways.

“These doors definitely will be locked up..might have to get bulletproof windows and maybe change the hours to before the sun goes down,” says Thomas.

The two people that were injured will be okay, but police are still trying to solve the homicide.

If you have any information you’re asked to call the York City Detective Division at 717-849-2219.

Maybe they need an NRA representative in these neighborhoods to explain to these people why they should all walk around heavily armed, so they can ALL start shooting back when the gunfire starts!
