A routine traffic stop for speeding leads to the arrest of two Perry County men on drug charges.  The incident about 1:48 pm Saturday.  A Susquehanna Township Police officer stopped an eastbound vehicle on Route 322 after it was timed traveling at 85 mph in a 55 mph speed zone.

The driver was identified as 18 year old Damajah McLaughlin, of Newport and his passenger 18 year old Matthew Huynh, of Loysville.  The actions of the two men made officers suspicious so they ask for and were given consent to search them and the vehicle.

Police found 4 bundles of heroin in McLaughlin’s pocket and 2 bundles of heroin hidden in Huynh’s shoe.  They also found an electronic scale and a jar with marijuana residue in the car.

Charges against both men include Possession of counterfeit substances and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
