130821131646-ups-employee-620xa(CNN Money) In an undated memo to employees, UPS (UPS, Fortune 500) said it will discontinue coverage for all working spouses who are eligible for insurance with their own employer. That applies to about 15,000 spouses covered by UPS today.

The internal document was obtained by Kaiser Health News. UPS told the nonprofit news agency that the policy applies only to non-union U.S. workers. It hasn’t responded to questions from CNNMoney.

In the memo, UPS said it’s willing to take care of its own, but it won’t bear a burden that other companies can take on.

“We believe your spouse should be covered by their own employer — just as UPS has a responsibility to offer coverage to you, our employee,” the memo states.

Sure blame Bama. It's always Bama's fault. It rained yesterday and I guess that's
Bama's fault. Cereal's low in the house, I guess that's Bama's fault. Milk soured in
frig, I guess that's Bama's fault. It never stops.

The strategy for vilifying democrat presidents for every single thing is getting old. The same problems exist under republican presidents.

I've got to go now. It's Obama's fault.

I don’t blame Obama. I blame the idiots that kept him in a position to do this. We are in bad shape as a nation when over half of the population wants freebies at others people’s expense, or they have an iq below freezing and didn’t see it coming.

Same story under all the presidents. But I don't see your logic when no one is getting any freebies in UPS saying that spouses that have an opportunity to pay for insurance through their own employer instead of as a rider on their UPS spouse's policy.

The wheels are slowly, but surely, falling off the Affordable Care Act. President Obama stated that if we were satisfied with our current coverage, we could keep it. Didn't mention that we might have to do without basic necessities to afford insurance under the so-called Affordable Care Act. We were all led to believe that the Affordable Care Act was necessary to provide health insurance for those who could not afford the premiums. Okay, fine, but why do the rest of us have to be affected? Doesn't make any sense to me. Basically, the insurance system wasn't broken, so why did the all knowing ones in DC decide to mess with it. Why not make funds available for those who were uninsured and let the rest of us alone? Only goes to prove that our leaders in DC have absolutely NO COMMON SENSE. Sad that our so-called leaders in DC are so out of touch with the people they were elected to represent. I've sent emails to my Senators. I was given subject topics for my email on each Senator's page. I waited and waited for a response, and in both cases received a form email pertaining to the topic I selected. Tells me that no in the Senators' offices was reading the emails I sent. The next thing those all knowing ones should do is start legislation for term limits. No more CAREER politicians!!! Need to have elected officials who are there for ALL the people, not just the SQUEAKY WHEELS who yell the loudest!
