Husband and wife argument turns into a stabbing

Husband is stabbed during a fight with his wife in York County.

Anthony and Amy Sproul were fighting in their home located at 460 Deer Road, in Fawn Township, when Mr. Sproul began choking Mrs. Sproul. Amy Sproul until soon passed out. The Sproul’s children saw the altercation and ran to a neighbor’s house. The kids told the neighbor they saw their dad choking their mom and she called police.

When police arrived at the home, Mr. Sproul came stumbling towards officers. He appeared to have multiple stab wounds to the chest. Police found Amy Sproul inside the house. Police say she was disoriented and her face was severely beaten.

Amy Sproul told police that she had been choked, pushed down a flight of stairs and repeatedly beaten by her husband. She also said that Anthony Sproul had stabbed himself in the chest. The knife was still lying on the couch with blood on it.

Anthony Sproul was taken to York Hospital where medical examiners observed the stab wounds were not life threatening. Amy Sproul was flown from the scene to Milton Hershey Medical Center where she was admitted and listed as in serious condition. Anthony Sproul did cause serious bodily injury to Amy Sproul.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Anthony Sproul and he is now in York County Prison.
