A local band is putting on a charity concert for families dealing with the financial burden of fighting cancer.  At the age of 27 doctors diagnosed Jimmy Faus with Colon Cancer. He died within seven months. His mother, had lost her husband just years earlier.

“ When we were in hospice he was really upset because I had lost him three years before and he said how does this happen to you again ? you know, always thinking of someone else,” says Marie Resh, Jimmy’s mom

” Hutch”  Hutchinson , works on the oncology floor in a Lancaster hospital

That’s where he met Jimmy, forming a bond over music and art. Hutch is also the lead singer of the band, Heroes 4 Ransom. When Jimmy was in the hospital, he didn’t have insurance and he wanted to help by raising money. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get it put together before Jimmy passed. To honor his promise he organized a benefit concert, Heroes for Cancer, that will raise money for families struggling with the financial burden of fighting the disease. His mother says this concert is a way to keep Jimmy’s memory alive.

“I look at it as though Jimmy is looking down on us and  his family and friends and that his helping hands are not yet still,” says Resh
