Folks enjoyed the flavors of a new wine and new beer at The Vineyard at Hershey’s Merlot Release Party on Saturday.
The Winery unveiled its new signature Merlot, as well as its pumpkin beer called Flash Gourd’n.
The bash kicked off with live music, a pig roast, and a grandiose entry of the vineyard’s owners in both a Monster Truck and Rolls Royce.
The event though, wasn’t all about alcohol; all of the proceeds benefit local families hoping to build memorials for their sons who were killed in the line of duty.
“The memorial that is being built is for three fallen local soldiers who lost their lives fighting for our country about a year ago. Their families are looking to build a memorial for them at Fort Indiantown Gap; their goal is to reach $25,000, we figure with 4,000 people here today and proceeds of sales and a silent auction, we can definitely reach that goal,” says “Merlot” Mike Wilson, with the Vineyard.
All of the day’s events wrapped up with a fireworks display.
