Bandit wearing Halloween mask walks away frustrated and without any cash

Police in York County are searching for a bandit who disguised himself with a devil mask, in an attempted armed robbery over the weekend.  It happened at about 9:45 Sunday night at the J & A Shoppette along the 3100 block of York Haven Road in Newberry Township.  The suspect was observed walking around outside the building before the attempted robbery.

He walked into the store and approached the counter wearing a devil type Halloween mask, dark clothing, and gloves. He waved a handgun at a store clerk and demanded money to be placed in a plastic bag.  But for unknown reasons, the suspect suddently left the store appearing frustrated and without any cash.

The suspect is described as a young male, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, between 140 to 160 pounds. Anyone with any information on the case is asked to Newberry Township Police at (717) 854-5571.
