The Franklin County Coroner has been called to the scene of a fiery crash along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, according to 911 dispatchers. The crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. near mile marker 194 in Metal Township, Franklin County.
A portion of the turnpike between Blue Mountain and Willow Hill is currently closed.
Traffic is currently being detoured between the Breezewood and Carlisle interchanges.
- Eastbound Detour: Exit Breezewood to Route 30 West (.3 miles) to Route 70 East (I-81 exit MD #26, 48 miles) to Interstate 81 North (58 miles) to Exit #52B, Middlesex, Route 11 South to the Pa. Turnpike Carlisle Interchange 226/Old 16.
- Westbound Detour: Route 11 North to Interstate 81 South (58 miles) to Maryland Exit #4 to Interstate 70 West (48 miles) to Route 30 East (.3 miles) and re-enter at Breezewood Interchange 161/Old 12.
Motorists should expect heavy delays.
