A driver is recovering after crashing into a Silver Spring Township police cruiser on Sunday. According to police reports, the accident happened while officers were investigating a two vehicle crash along the 6900 block of Carlisle Pike.
Police say a vehicle crossed over the center line and hit the cruiser that was parked along the side of the road.
The patrol car was unoccupied and no officers were injured in the crash.
The driver of the striking vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
