Officials are taking a hands-on approach at one Lancaster County school to show teens the dangers of distracted driving.
Allstate Insurance brought its National Reality Rides tour to Manheim Central High School today.
Students took turns in a driving simulator to show the risks associated with distracted driving.
National statistics show car crashes are the number one killer of teenagers.
“Most car crashes are caused by inexperienced drivers. At Allstate, we’re trying to do everything we can to change that fact.” Says Joe Lapp from Allstate.
Allstate partnered with the local charity “Mourning Light” to bring the program to the school.
Two mothers of Manheim Central football players founded the charity after their sons died in a car accident two years ago.
