NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Davidson County woman posted an advertisement on Craigslist, refusing to give a stray dog back to its owners.

Christianna Willis, age 23, said a pit bull named Mama Jade showed up at her North Nashville home.

Willis said the dog was looking for help, not a home.

“I saw her teeth and saw that her teeth had been pulled out and filed down, and I just started crying,” said Christianna Willis, who found Mama Jade. “I immediately started bawling.”

She said Mama Jade was severely abused, and appeared to have cancer. Willis wrote a Craigslist Ad of her own to the owners, telling them Mama Jade would never go back.

“That night I was just sitting in my room thinking about her because I was so angry,” said Willis.

The ad has gone viral since it was posted.
