A Columbia Borough man was arrested Thursday accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl, police said.
Luis Galvez, 46, is charged with two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, on count of unlawful contact with a minor, four counts of indecent assault and one count of corruption of minors.
According to police reports, the victim’s mother contacted authorities after her daughter revealed that Galvez sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions at his home in August.
Police say Galvez’s wife was the victim’s babysitter at the time of the alleged incident.
Galvez was arrested and released after posting $75,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 18.
