LAST DAY OF 80S

A warm front just north of the region continues to influence our weather, bringing a few spotty showers and thunderstorms.  Through the evening, the activity wanes, leaving mostly dry conditions through the overnight period.  A stray shower is still possible.  Patchy fog forms once again tonight, especially in locations that see some rainfall.  It’s another mild and muggy night, with low temperatures in the lower to middle 60s.  Sunday, a cold front out west continues to inch closer to us, and clouds are expected to thicken up through the daytime hours.  Temperatures reach the lower to middle 80s despite the limited sunshine.  A stray shower or storm is possible once again.  Like the last couple of days, however, not everyone will see it.

MUCH NEEDED SOAKING

Monday the cold front crosses the region, bringing a needed rainfall to the Lower Susquehanna River Valley.  There is some discrepancy on the timing of the system.  If the brunt of the rainfall arrives later in the afternoon, it’s possible some strong storms could get organized.  Hail and strong winds would be the main threats if this scenario plays out.  We’ll continue to monitor this threat through the weekend.  Otherwise, we’re looking at plenty of rainfall, with amounts of a half of an inch up to an inch likely for many!  How high temperatures rise are dependent on the arrival of the rainfall, but will be in the 70s.

BACK TO AVERAGE

The cold front and its precipitation should clear the region before daybreak on Tuesday.  Behind the front, cooler and more seasonable air rushes our way.  High temperatures are in the upper 60s.  Chilly nights return after that, and temperatures stay seasonable through the rest of the week under plenty of sunshine.  Highs are in the upper 60s again on Wednesday, and rise slightly above average into the lower 70s through the rest of the week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
