An event in Lancaster on Saturday helped raise money to find homeless pups a forever home.

Mutt Palace Training Services hosted the 9th Annual Mutt Mixer at Buchanan Park. The mixer helps raise funds to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide foster care for pets. Dogs and their owners raised money by taking part in events like a costume contest, doggie dash, and a canine custard contest. All of the funds from this year’s mixer go to Paws n’ Time, a non-profit rescue that promotes pet adoption.

“It’s the first time a Lancaster based rescue is the recipient of all the funds from the Mutt Mixer.  Most of the money that we bring in goes towards veterinary costs, we get a lot of dogs that have special needs or issues.” says Meghan MacNamara, V.P. of Paws n’ Time Canine Rescue.

Last year’s mixer raised close to $800 for the canine rescue; organizers are hoping this year’s event topped that amount.
