Skies clouded up quickly due to a slow moving coastal storm down to our southeast.  It will move very slowly up the east coast today then stall along the Mid-Atlantic coast for the rest of the week and possibly into the weekend before a weak frontal boundary arrives Monday.  Upper level low should also weaken by then and move eastward out of the area early next week.  Until then, we are stuck with mainly overcast skies and periods of rain and drizzle for several days.

MUCH NEEDED RAINFALL

We could see the first drops as early as tonight in our southern counties. Lows will not be as chilly but still could drop into the upper 40s to around 50. Rain will slowly move up from the south overnight and spread across the area for tomorrow.  It will be on and off.  With the lack of sunshine and with the rain, temperatures will struggle to move much staying in the 50s for all.

Where You Live

It looks as if the area could pick up anywhere from a half an inch to well over an inch of rain in the next two days.  We could add to the totals if showers persist through the weekend.

ENDING THE WEEK GLOOMY

Friday won’t see as much rain but it will still be a possibility. Clouds will mix with very little sunshine and temperatures will again move slowly reaching close to 60 by the afternoon.

We could see rain for the first time this season for Friday Night football.  You may need to pack an umbrella when heading out to an area game.  Certainly will need the jacket as temperatures will be cool and any rain will add to the chill.

UNSETTLED WEEKEND

Clouds will rule but we should see more sunshine mixing in and out.  There could be some hit or miss showers or drizzle both days, however, still a big question mark at this time.  Just keep in mind there is a chance as you make your plans for the weekend.

Finally we’ll get a break in the pattern for Monday and Tuesday.  We’ll see more sunshine and warmer temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Next frontal system will arrive Wednesday with another chance for showers.  Highs in the lower 70s.
