The suspect wanted in a fatal shooting at a York City bar is captured in upstate New York. U.S. Marshals located 23 year old Halim Rayshawn Bowen early Wednesday morning at a home in the 300 block of Brandywine Avenue in Schenectady, New York. He was taken into custody without incident.
An arrest warrant for Bowen was issued last August in the fatal shooting of Jaime Sanabria. It happened at about 1:30 am on August 17, 2013 at George’s Tavern along the 300 block of Walnut Street. Sanabria was shot in the back; he later died at York Hospital. On August 29, 2013, York City Police requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in tracking down Bowen.
Bowen is being held in New York pending an extradition hearing request for his return to York.
