Police departments all over the country are celebrating October as crime prevention month.

The York City Police Department’s Community Services Division and York Mayor Kim Bracey met at City Hall in York to educate the community about crime prevention.

The outreach provides free gun locks, brochures on how to prevent crime and tips on trick or treat safety and home security.

York City Police are encouraging everyone to stop by City Hall any Wednesday in October to learn how to help prevent crime.
