Armstrong World Industries says it will invest $41 million in the manufacture of luxury vinyl tile at its Lancaster plant. Currently the luxury vinyl tile line is manufactured in China. The company says the move to bring the line to the United States is more economical and will add 57 new jobs locally when production starts in early 2015.
“By bring this manufacturing to the U.S., we leverage our manufacturing expertise and create a strong cost, quality and service position for a very exciting product category”, said Armstrong Flooring CEO Frank Ready in a prepared statement.
The plant along the 1000 block of Dillerville Road, already employes 160 people. Lancaster based Armstrong World Industries, Inc., is a global leader in the design and manufacture of floors and ceilings. it operates 34 plants in eight countries and has approximately 8,800 employees worldwide.
