A local flag football league welcomes the guys and the ladies.  They are weekend warriors and they are having a lot of fun.  The co-ed league is run by York Sports Recreation.   They play games at the fields across from York Catholic High School.   You will see plenty of women out on pass patterns and involved in the action.  Over 100 players register with a total of nine teams playing every week.    Everyone seems to benefit from the time on the football field.

“It’s a social league, it’s exercise and everybody gets out here and runs around,” said Mike Jackson who is a co-founder of the league.  “It’s a bit more laid back than some of the other leagues around here.”

Mary Croker is one of the ladies playing in the league.   “They include us in all the plays, they make us feel like we are on the team but it’s flag football so we aren’t going to get hurt,” she said.  “They throw us the ball so I feel included.  It’s competitive but it’s fun.”
