Police have arrested a second man they say was involved in the shooting and brutal beating of a Harrisburg man last weekend.

Ornaldo Ayuso-Rivera, 38, was arrested late Saturday night on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and retaliation against a witness, according to online court records.

Investigators say Ayuso-Rivera was among several individuals who beat a man during the early morning hours of Oct. 5 along the 1500 block of N. 6th Street.

The 43-year-old victim was shot multiple times during the assault, police said. He was taken to a local hospital and continues to recover from his injuries.

Police arrested 35-year-old Danny Cruz, of Harrisburg, on Oct. 9 for allegedly shooting the victim.

A preliminary hearing for Cruz is set for Oct. 18. He remains in Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $1,500,000 bail.

Ayuso-Rivera’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22. His bail was set at $750,000 and he was taken to Dauphin County Prison.
