A massive fire destroyed a restaurant in Cumberland County early Saturday.  Authorities say the restaurant was closed for business when flames broke out shortly after 4 a.m. at the Bonanza Steakhouse located along the 900 block of Walnut Bottom Road in South Middleton Township.

A firefighter battling the blaze was injured when a fire hose broke and hit him in the head, said Brian Hamilton, chief of United Fire Company No. 1. He was treated at Carlisle Regional Medical Center for minor injuries and has since been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, authorities don’t believe the fire was the result of arson.

Damage estimates were not immediately available, Hamilton said, but the restaurant is a total loss.
