Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all United States and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Cumberland County be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, October 23, in honor of U.S. Army Sgt. Patrick C. Hawkins.

Hawkins, 25, an Army Ranger from Carlisle was killed October 6 in Afghanistan while aiding a fellow wounded Ranger. He will be buried Wednesday in Arlington National Cemetery.

Both U.S. and Pennsylvania flags should be flown at full-staff on Thursday.

All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
