A Leola man is arrested after police say he fired 6 shots from an AR-15 into a dirt embankment alongside Route 30 in West Hempfield Township. It happened on Wednesday, October 16th 2013 around 10:30pm.  Steven Neal, 23, pulled his disabled vehicle over onto the berm of the westbound lanes just east of Prospect Road and fired off six shots. Police recovered six spent shell casings in the area of Neal’s vehicle about 100 yards from the Summit Hills housing development in Mountville borough.

Police first responded to Summit Hills development when someone reported the gunfire, but found nothing within the developement.  East Lampeter Township Police advised West Hempfield Police to check along Route 30, after they arrested Neal for an incident in their jurisdiction.

All weapons involved were confiscated as was Neal’s vehicle.  No one was hurt during any of the incidents reported to police.
