Fire officials say they may never know what caused a massive fire that destroyed a Cumberland County restaurant over the weekend.

The Bonanza Steakhouse which sits along the 900 block of Walnut Bottom Road was gutted by fire early Saturday morning. Because of the severity of the damage, a state police fire marshal was unable to determine what exactly caused the fire.

At this point the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature, said Trooper Michael Rugh, a state police fire marshal.

The investigation remains open.
