A Dauphin County man is facing child endangerment and drug charges after troopers learned his 2-year-old daughter was playing with empty heroin packets, police said.
Rickey Allen Shoop, 29, of Halifax, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment and numerous drug violations.
Troopers responded to the first block of South 4th Street in Halifax for a report of a disturbance around 10:50 p.m. Monday.
According to investigators, Shoop attempted to flee and was caught with three heroin packets and two needles, one of which contained heroin.
Troopers discovered Shoop’s 2-year-old daughter had been playing with a empty heroin bag inside the residence prior to their arrival at the scene.
