Maryland woman attacked by cow

TANEYTOWN, Md. – A Taneytown woman is recovering after a cow charged and pinned her against a car Wednesday night in Maryland.

It happened around 7:45 p.m. along Route 40 near Baptist Road– a few miles west of Taneytown.

Maryland State Police say the unidentified woman was taken to the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

According to police reports, the cow had been struck by a car on the road. The woman was a bystander when the injured cow attacked. Troopers then shot and killed the cow.

The people in the car that struck the animal were not hurt, troopers said.
