In the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal, there is a new push to make sure kids are protected when they are in the care of non-profit groups. According to the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, each day, nearly 150 people with criminal records sign up to work with non-profits, many of whom are registered sex offenders. The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation has developed a new policy and tool-kit to help child-based non-profits screen applicants and non-profit workers.

Foundation president Steve Salem and Board of Directors member Robbie Callaway talk to FOX43 about the new program.
