Quarryville Soldier Killed in Line of Duty

Written By: Katie Kyros

Staff Sgt. Patrick Quinn was laid to rest at Quarryville Cemetery on Saturday.

Hundreds attended the funeral service at Wesley United Methodist Church. Local fire companies assisted with the procession.

Quinn died when a gunman attacked his base in Paktika Province, Afghanistan on October 13th.

Quinn was a father of three, and a Green Beret who served in the Army since 2006.

“The loss of any Green Beret to his team is the loss of a very dear friend because it’s such a small and intimate group,” says Staff Sgt. Marcus Butler. “And I know each and every one of them is hurting.”

God Bless Staff Sgt. Quinn. May the good Lord watch over your family in this time if grief and sorrow.
