Witnesses say they can’t forget the image of a father running into a burning house to save his family. It happened at 12:30 AM on Saturday, on State Street in Middletown, Dauphin County.

Now that father, George Radabaugh, and his wife, Heather, are being treated for serious burns at Lehigh Valley Burn Center. Three of their children were also taken to the hospital for minor burns and other injuries. The family’s dog died in the fire.

The children were out of the house before their parents. Radabaugh checked on the children at a neighbor’s house after everyone was out.

“I think he was in shock,” says Sherrie Brandt, who lives across the street. “He was pretty badly burned on his back.”

Friends say the family has lost everything.
“I just want everybody to keep the family in their prayers,” says Brandt. “It’s going to be a long road.”

A Facebook page called “Rally for the Radabaughs” is set up to organize donations for the family.
