Police have released a composite image of the suspect who stabbed a pregnant woman in Hallam Borough on Tuesday, November 5th. The image is a computer composite representation of the suspect described by the victim.  Police say the image does not depict the “black hoodie” as described by the victim, but the hairstyle and color is unknown. Again, the suspect is described as a white male, 18-20 years of age, pale in complexion, 5 foot 11 inch, thin in stature, approximately 120-140lbs. Any information regarding this subject should contact Hellam Township Police at 717-434-1310.

The stabbing happened shortly after noon in the first block of East Forry Avenue in Hallam Borough. Hellam Township Police Chief, Mark Sowers, says it all happened in a fraction of a second.A man stabbed a woman in her arm with a sharp object and then slashed her face.“She met him, he didn’t say anything, they met face to face there he slashed out at her, he took off and it was less than one second,” says Chief Sowers. But it was long enough for the woman to stare at the man and get an accurate description.

Police say they’re looking for a tall white man who’s between 18 to 20 years old.

Chief Sowers says the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the stabbing.

We spoke with the woman who lives with the victim just as she found out the horrific news.

“I just don’t know why anybody would hurt her, she’s so sweet,” says homeowner, Debra Vaughn.

Debra Vaughn told us the 20 year old woman is her son’s best friend’s wife, and she’s 7 1/2 months pregnant.

She moved in with Vaughn while she and her husband look for a permanent home.

Vaughn’s devastated that someone would commit such a crime on her back porch.

“This is not you know something that goes on in this neighborhood at least not right here,” says Vaughn.

The woman and her baby are expected to be okay.
