A local church opens its doors to people in need, and the need was great.
Hundreds of people and families waited in line to enter San Juan Bautista Catholic Church on South Lime Street in Lancaster.
The church hosted The Catholic Worker House Free Clothing Giveaway for the community.
Coats, sweaters, blankets, hats and gloves were among the items handed out.
“The circumstances and the economics of today, there is more and more people that need things and the more we can help to relieve them because they can’t go to the stores and buy things anymore,” says Joe Daugherty, who helped organize the event.
All of the clothing that was given away was donated by community members.
The giveaway is held every year for local folks in need.
