Man shot outside of North York nightclub

One person was injured after a fight ended in gunfire outside of a North York nightclub early Sunday. Police responded to a report of a shooting around 2:30 a.m. outside the Belmont Club located along the first block of West 11th Avenue.

As police were making their way to the scene–they found a SUV leaving the area with out its lights on. Officers stopped the vehicle and discovered that one of the passengers, a 23-year-old York City man,  had been shot in the arm.

The victim told investigators he had been inside the Belmont Club when a fight broke out and spilled onto the streets.  Several shots were fired as the victim ran from the scene and he was hit in the arm.

Police say he was not part of the fight.

The victim was taken to York Hospital for treatment.

So far, no arrests have been made.
