Christmas lists were getting crossed off on Saturday, thanks to a one-stop holiday shopping event held in Dauphin County.
The shopping event at American Legion Post 730 on Walnut Street, offered a variety of vendors, gift baskets and baked goods for people to get a jump-start on their holiday shopping.
Part of the money raised will benefit two local pet organizations; PAWS and The Nobody’s Cat Foundation.
Both provide critical spay, neuter and other services across our area, and operate solely on donations.
“Any dollar is a dollar raised. Our feeling is that any funds that we have at the end of the day are funds that we would not have, fundraising has become very difficult,” says Christine Arnold, President of The Nobody’s Cat Foundation.
Saturday’s shopping event was one of two major fundraisers held by the pair of organizations this year.
They also tried their luck with a yard sale back in the spring and saw huge support from the community.
